Now 51, Richard Felstead is looking forward to once again being part of the DJ line-up at this years
Campsoul Music Festival. “I was asked to play last year, and not knowing what to expect, I went into it with an open mind”. “The atmosphere and family vibe with Mum’s, Dad’s and children alike all having a great time, dancing to soul and jazz both current and classic on two great sound systems in a field was incredible to me. I just soaked it all up and I lived off the vibe of that weekend for weeks afterwards”.

Richard has been playing on the scene since around 1978 playing on London’s first black music pirate soul station, radio Invicta. He went on to broadcast on Horizon Radio, Solar Radio as a pirate, Starpoint Radio and back to Solar Radio (both as legal stations)

A wide variety of club work has kept his ear close to the ground musically and this year he celebrates 36 years on radio.
